About Us
Meet Shanda
I’ve been training dogs for almost seven years and opened Lucky Dog Training in 2022.
My biggest interest has always been understanding dogs — how genetics, learning history, environment, and body language shape the dog in front of us.
I don’t believe training should be about creating a perfectly obedient dog. I believe dogs should have appropriate outlets for their natural behavior, have their needs met, and learn the skills that help them live successfully alongside us.
I work with dogs at all stages, from puppies just learning how to navigate the world to dogs struggling with fear, anxiety, reactivity, and more complex challenges. My approach focuses on looking at the whole dog and figuring out what is driving the problem rather than just trying to stop what we see on the surface.
My goal is to help owners better understand their dogs and give them practical, effective ways to make everyday life easier for both of them.
