Puppy Day Training

Thank you for your interest in our puppy day training program!

If you are interested in the program, please send us an e-mail at: [email protected]

Dates available for the program vary.

This is for puppies 10-21 weeks old. Puppies must have proof of a minimum of two rounds of distemper/parvo vaccination from a veterinarian and otherwise up-to-date distemper/parvo and rabies vaccinations.

Each of the 8 hour days will include a combination of positive reinforcement training, rest time and crate training, and socialization to a variety of environment stimuli (such as sounds, sights and surfaces).  We currently have a 1:1 trainer to puppy ratio.

Drop off is at 8:00 AM and pick up is at 4:00 PM. At pick up, please plan to spend 10-20 minutes with us to review the day’s activities and receive your home follow up “dogwork.” Your participation and follow up after day training is crucial to your puppy’s success!

Our Training Methods

We use solely positive reinforcement training methods - primarily through marker training. We reward dogs for behaviors that we want so that it encourages and strengthens the behavior. It encourages dogs to think more for themselves and motivates dogs with fun. We do not use training methods that cause discomfort, pain or fear.

Cost of Program

The cost of the day training program is $1600 and must be paid at time of booking. This includes the four 8 hour day training sessions followed by a short review at pick up as well as take home information and “dogwork,” as well as a free group class that can be redeemed within 6 months of completing the day training program. We require an in-person consultation at our facility with you and your puppy prior to registration.

What we plan to cover during day training:

  • Training the basics of behaviors including: sit, down, hand targeting, attention, drop, stay, coming when called, loose leash walking, standing for greetings, place, leave it
  • Socialization to different environmental stimuli including: surfaces (e.g., concrete, turf, tile), objects (e.g., brooms, pots/pans, umbrella, wheelchair), people, handling (e.g., touching ears, mouth), sounds (simulated thunder, fireworks)
  • Crate training

We will provide the groundwork for the above training and objectives - however owner participation and follow up at home is crucial to your puppy’s success!
